Current Fellows
PGY-4: Dr. Fuhlbrigge graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Michigan. She has extensive prior research experience in the molecular underpinnings of type 1 diabetes pathogenesis. She is excited to be returning to her hometown of Boston!
PGY-5: Dr. Harwood graduated from the Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his pediatrics residency at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore. He is exploring various areas of interest, including diabetes technology, growth, and obesity. He enjoys reading, exploring new parts of the city, and running along the Charles.
PGY-5: Dr. Lopez Lopez completed her training in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology in Mexico City and is now pursuing additional training in the United States. Her clinical and research interests are focused on neuroendocrinology. She loves learning about pituitary hormones, especially oxytocin. On her free time, she enjoys long walks in nature, and spending time with friends and family.
PGY-5: Dr. Yogev-Lifshitz completed her medical school at Tel Aviv University, her pediatrics residency at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel, and worked for 2 years as a primary care pediatrician before joining our fellowship program. She has done basic science research in pancreatic tissue differentiation as well as clinical research in use of statins in pediatrics. She is enjoying getting to know Boston, loves travelling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
PGY-6: Dr. Allen graduated from the Sackler School of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency at Stony Brook Children's Hospital. She is passionate about quality improvement in pediatrics, particularly as a means of ensuring equity. Her research focuses on children at risk for type 2 diabetes and determining predictors of progression to disease.
PGY-6: Dr. Naveed is a graduate of Aga Khan University Medical College and completed her residency at SUNY Downstate. After graduation she practiced as a pediatrician in Pakistan and then returned to the US for her subspecialty training. Her fellowship research project focuses on the role of the hypothalamic peptide kisspeptin in modulating LH pulsatility in polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Our fellowship graduates are thriving across the country and around the globe. They are engaged in varied careers including physician-scientists, clinician-educators, policy advocates, and leaders in biotechnology and industry.
2025 graduate:
Dr. Kat Nagel is completing a joint adult and pediatric endocrinology fellowship and will be joining the MGH faculty. She has an NIH-sponsored grant to continue her research into the user experience of automated insulin delivery in young adults with type 1 diabetes.
2024 graduate:
Dr. Imen Becetti is faculty at MGBfC where she is a clinical endocrinologist embedded in two affiliated federally-qualified health centers. She is passionate about community endocrinology, particularly prevention and management of obesity and its metabolic complications.
2023 graduates:
Dr. Janaki Vakharia is faculty in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at MGH, where she leads the Diabetes Collaborative Care Clinic for Young Adults which she spearheaded as a fellow.
Dr. Jacqueline Maya is faculty in the Pediatric Endocrine Division and at the MGH Pediatric Weight Center. She continues her research investigating dysglycemia in pregnancy and its effects on neonatal and pediatric health through an ADA-funded career development award.
2022 graduates:
Dr. Jonanlis Ramirez is a pediatric endocrinologist at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Aluma Sella is a pediatric endocrinologist at Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel
2021 graduates:
Dr. Luz Castellanos completed a subspecialty fellowship in oncologic endocrinology at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she is now a member of the pediatric endocrinology faculty.
Dr. Marwa Tuffaha is a pediatric endocrinologist at Boston Children's Hospital.
2020 graduate:
Dr. Liya Kerem is an endocrinologist at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, where she has developed a multidisciplinary childhood obesity treatment center.
2019 graduates:
Dr. Jordan Sherwood is an Associate Medical Director for Clinical Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he is working on developing beta-cell stem cell transplant as a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Rachel Whooten is a faculty member at MGfC and is the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship. She has an NIH K23 award to study the impact of physical activity on PCOS risk in peripubertal females.
