Ms Chong Lee Khim received her education at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with a Bachelor’s in General Music Studies.
She began singing in choirs at the age of 7 and has performed with choirs and sung in operas and live film music. As an enthusiastic musician and active performer, she hopes that she can pursue the wonders of music to the best of her abilities.
Ms Chong Lee Khim is currently a conductor and piano teacher in Singapore.
Ms Ellissa Sayampanathan was our former assistant conductor. She is also an alumnus and former president of the Methodist Girls’ School Choir.
Ms Ellissa seeks to combine her love for music with her desire to mould young voices. She is currently an undergraduate reading English Literature at the National University of Singapore, and is strongly influenced by the marriage between the written word and its performance through music.
Whilst in MGS, Ms Ellissa served as the choir’s president and also assisted in the choir’s independent music learning. She was awarded the Wong Hee Hua Medal for her contributions to the choir. Graduating from the Music Elective Programme at Anglo-Chinese Junior College, she was awarded the Ministry of Education Music Elective Scholarship for two consecutive years. She has attained a Licentiate Diploma in Voice Performance, and an Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Trinity College of London, and continues to hone her skills in music masterclasses.
Miss Ellissa currently sings with the Anglo-Chinese Junior College Alumni Choir and also conducts The Pathlight Youth Choir and the Grace Orchard School Choir, and is happy to be back with the MGS Choir since January 2016.
