Methlick Scout Group are fortunate to have access to the campsite at Haddo, including almost half the Pheasantry building , and the field in front of it, and the Scout field down and to the left of it. We have been camping there for over 50 years, and also making it available to other youth based organisations to utilise the facilities we have created there. In the other half of the building there are the public toilets (which campers have access to), and the Haddo Visitor Officers (VSO) Education Rooms.
In the building there are 2 rooms available, a kitchen/food prep room and a sitting room. In the sitting room is a wood fire, and some sofas where the leaders of groups can chill out in an evening after the young people are bedded and plan their following days activities. In the kitchen there is a large larder fridge, a wee freezer, an urn, a kettle, and a microwave. Please note no tables and benches are supplied, and campers should be self sufficient with these.
Bookings for the site are made via the haddocampsite@gmail.com email address, sending in the form below. Bookings are strictly on a first come basis, and are in the main exclusive to the hiree. On some occasions there needs to be a double up of different groups campers, however this is generally avoided where possible. Please note there may be other activities ongoing in the park, and there will also be the general public enjoying a walk there too.
The site is now only available from 1st May to 31st October, to allow it to recover over the winter months.
Please note booking opportunities for next year will open on 1st November and there will only be 1 Group onsite at any time.
The Warden and Booking Officer will do everything they can to help with your stay.
There is also the possibility to hire the Methlick Scout Group’s marquee, which is very handy should the weather be unkind. Prices are available for this on request. Marquee is up when you arrive thanks to the bunch of Group SAS helpers and parents we have.
