For this project I share my skills gained through these Microsoft software.
I have used Word all throughout school, from elementary to college, and after taking this class I realized I was just scratching the surface. Word is so much more than what it seems. There are so many tools built in that help you succeed and make that essay just that much better.
The bibliography tool was an amazing thing to learn about. I have spent years looking up how to make one, and then learning how to make one by hand has saved me so much time and stress
Table of Contents, or TOC, was also super neat to learn about. When you have headings or subheadings, you just click and it takes you there.
Strikethrough is also something I learned about and I have fun using.
I don’t even know where to begin with Excel. This was the first time I was taught in-depth about Excel. I have used Excel a few times for a job internship before and just had to do very simple things like punching in numbers. It was never anything too complicated. When taking the practices for Excel, I got a bit overwhelmed and shocked with how many things I didn’t know about this software.
The sheet tab bar; during my internship, there were multiple documents with just the one sheet and not multiple, so learning that there was an option to have multiple sheets in one document was super neat.
I learned how to use the tools and resources inside Excel to make it easier to navigate and input data.
Learning about Autosum was amazing and would have been so helpful back at my internship. It saved me so much time.
I have used PowerPoint for all of my schooling, but I never took the time to really learn it. I would just make quick slides with a solid background and add bullet points. Having lessons on PowerPoint really helped me be able to use it to a higher potential and really add that edge to my work.
The animations: I've known about the transitions and have used them before but I didn't know about that ribbon.
Videos: I never knew you could make videos on PowerPoint.
I think these are amazing things to be taught and also learned. My only issue is I wish I had the option to learn them earlier into my schooling, like middle or high school, because they are just so useful in school.
