Blog (5.11.17): Tomorrow I am recording for both my composition and excerpts for this tech project. I am recording the various motifs that I want to program into Makey Makey and Bare Conductive. First I loaded up some midi sounds to see how they would go on the Bare Conductive. My initial idea was that these sounds/motifs would be recorded separately, then played on Bare Conductive and played together to then re-create the piece. Only problem was - you can't play more than one sound at a time on Bare Conductive! This means, that I have to re-think how I will re-create Glassworks motifs if only one recording can be heard at once! Makey Makey however you can play more than one "thing" at a time.
So my first idea to solve this problem is either to use multiple Bare Conductive kits to get two sounds playing at once...or think of a different structure to programming sounds in to generate a different experience for the listener....Just found an advantage of Makey Makey over Bare Conductive.
A little more research and Bare Conductive has a way you can re-program the touch board as a midi controller: https://www.bareconductive.com/make/midi-interface/ . This does mean it will need to be connected to an iPad but the best way to program my own sounds in.
Bare Conductive Midi Test: This is proving more difficult than anticipated. Luckily, I can use the conductive paint instead of a solder iron, but I can't find the correct midi interface coding, and the coding is not uploading to the Audrino board #error #frustration! I'm sure it shouldn't be this difficult to make two sounds at once!
