Blog (20.11.17): Well it finally arrived - my 3D model to activate - better late than never! There were problems with printing the base and the printer did it a few times with different materials to make sure it didn't warp. I will send him a few images of what I ended up doing with it!
This is much tricky than the Makey Makey part. I spent more time on the composition and getting the loops right for the Makey Makey, but this requires precision artwork - for which is not my forte! But I gave it a go. I've learnt from my testing, that the key is to develop a template so you can get quite thin lines, but you also need quite a think layer of paint to get a good connection - which is hard when you are working with thinner more delicate surfaces on a small scale. I had to make my own template for this paint job. I had designed it so that it would be big enough for the Arduino to fit inside - which worked! But thought that might be even trickier to get the right connections. Might try that next.
