For a number of years Meldreth Croquet Club has enabled Members of both Melbourn U3A and Cambridge U3A to take introductory courses in Golf Croquet. The club has also facilitated a regular Wednesday morning session throughout the season for Melbourn U3A.

From 2018, we are now providing courses and regular sessions for Royston U3A and a regulars session on Monday has now been established.

The emphasis in U3A is very much social enjoyment rather than a sharp competitive edge, although some U3A members have gone on to join the club and represented the club in external club matches.

As part of the enjoyable arrangements, U3A members sometimes get involved in playing enjoyable variants of croquet such as Cro-ball, Croquennis and Crittles.
