Fresh air, pleasant surroundings, friendly people, and gentle activity - all to be found behind the British Queen pub in Meldreth, Cambridgeshire.
This is the home of Meldreth Croquet Club. The club is located near to Meldreth station and is easily accessible from Cambridge, which is around 8 miles away.
The club plays the main two variants of croquet (and a few fun games as well)
Those two variants are:-
Association Croquet
Association Croquet is the traditional game, played in many countries. It embraces a range of tactics and skills and progresses through the use of free shots on going through hoops, and hitting other balls in play. Players enjoy the thrill of successfully moving balls from one hoop to the next.
Golf Croquet
Golf Croquet is the more social variant of the game, with its own international rules, where everyone stays on the lawn and takes their turn in seeking to win the hoop of the moment. It is a strategic, tactical, competitive and a fun game all rolled into one.
