Bias and Fairness in Medicine

In this DFF-funded project, I am collaborating with Aasa Feragen and Sune Holm and will examine the nature of bias in diagnosis and treatment of diseases on the example of major depressive disorder. In an interaction between ethics/philosophy and mathematical modelling, we will redefine fairness for the medical domain and develop predictive AI algorithms that are, in the new sense, fair.
