My objective for this assignment was to investigate and analyze 2 news articles that contained relevant information about cybersecurity. I specifically used Google News to research articles about cybersecurity attacks involving hacking and identity theft, which were covered by the media. I also had to complete a CCBC cybersecurity training and earned a certificate at the end of my training.
The article covers a celebrity hacking incident in where actor Jamie Campbell Bower's Twitter account was hacked. On Sunday, November 27, Bower announced on his Instagram story that his account has been hacked and advised his fans not to give out any information to the hacker.
In this case, hacking means that an unauthorized person gained access to Jamie Campbell Bower's twitter account. Hackers usually take advantage of celebrity accounts to try to trick the fans into sending them money.
Celebrities are public figures and constantly have their privacy invaded, which is why it is important they protect their privacy as much as they can. Ways one can prevent hacking of their social media accounts include, using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and keeping your apps and mobile OS up-to-date.

In order to complete my CyberSecurity training, I had to fully watch videos and complete assessments accurately .
In this lesson, I learned a lot about CyberSecurity threats, such as ransomware, viruses, hacking, identity theft, and phishing, and also learned many ways to protect ourselves and our privacy from such threats.
I particularly did not know what phishing was before this lesson. I learned that when phishing, the attacker sends a fake email containing a link to the victim, which will look legitimate at first. Usually the link will redirect you to a a real looking site that will get you to put in sensitive information or will be a link that downloads a virus onto your devices.
Before, I never really payed attention to my emails, however after learning about phishing, I will pay attention to my emails by hovering over links and being careful to those emails that demand urgency.
