Two faced: the act of being insincere and deceitful

Synonyms: deceitful, insincere, double-dealing, hypocritical, backstabbing, false.

Two-faced is a term that unfortunately is all too familiar for most individuals. Confiding in what looks to be a trustworthy source, turns out to be an untrustworthy, poisonous evil, with a venom that has no antidote. What lies behind their smile? Often we find ourselves in these predicaments; relaying personal information to people who hold our words and feelings in an all to slippery grasp, only to drop it to another individual who just simply wants to gossip. It seems to be a never-ending cycle of torment, until you wise up and keep things to yourself.

However, I’m writing this post not to create an uproar within people who can’t seem to be real and honest, but I am writing this to encourage the ones who have had their trust washed away by false words and empty kindness. All too many times you’ve given individuals chance after chance to prove themselves honest, but again and again they’ve continued to “stir the pot”; lovers of conflict. I wanted to make sure that you’re aware of how important you truly are. Forget the others. Why would you be so hurt and consumed by the actions and words of people who talk about who you are, when thy don’t even know who they are. You are stronger than that. You’re intelligent and bright, and worth more than the snakes that try to constrict you with their words. Never forget that the stories that they tell have been distorted in their favor, not yours; you’re never intended to win. Two-faced people often have one goal, and that is to create as many problems between you, your friends or even your family. Be kind to them anyways. Turn the other cheek. If you don’t like them, don’t pretend like you do. Snakes slither in the dirt; don’t stoop to that level.
