Astrometric Microlensing

Prof. Vikram Rentala

The aim of this project was to determine what percentage of dark matter (DM) is composed of primordial black holes (PBHs), using the concept of astrometric microlensing. I surveyed the existing literature on gravitational lensing and implemented the paper- ‘GRB lensing parallax: Closing primordial black hole dark matter mass window’ and analyzed the results obtained from it. I further explored femtolensing and utilized wave-optics effects for generating magnification plots for different PBH masses.
