nurturing civic engagement through media literacy

Even if we are not filling the role of citizen journalist or creating and publishing digital content, we are participating in the curating of information through our social media "likes". As participants in the process of information creation and transmission, we have a civic obligation to critically consume the information we encounter. As teachers and parents, we are in perfect positions to help our students develop these skills and learn to think before they like, share or post.
