Commandant Peter Swing called the meeting to order. Sixteen members were in attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read.
Sick Call
Andy Pucek mentioned that Patty Pucek’s daughter had gall bladder surgery. She is doing better. ‘Papa’ Bill Crossley is having medical issues, get well Bill.
Paymaster Report
Andy Pucek stated we have a balance of $2,255, plus 856,000 colones.
Old Business
Peter mentioned that he intends to meet with the U.S. Ambassador with regard to the JROTC program.
MCWLCR and the American Legion plan their Memorial Day Service for Monday, May 25th at 11:00 am at Campo de Esperanza Cementerio, San Antonio, Escazú. Uniform of the day requested.
New Business
Paula Zamora is no longer working for Hospital CIMA. She is now an independent contractor working on behalf of the doctors at CIMA. Carolina and Brandon continue to work at the Veterans office at CIMA.
Member Charlton Chao spoke of the Traveling Veterans Program to coordinate routine services while traveling. Visit the VA website for additional information.
We are planning a ‘meet and greet’ with the new MSG Detachment Commander GySgt Greg Roberts at the Marine House. More information to follow.
We hope to have a Poker Tournament at the Sheraton Hotel Casino in the near future. More information to follow.
A School Benefit Golf Tournament is planned by the American Legion, May 22nd, 2026, at Valle de Sol in Lindora. Entry fee $120, 8:00 am start. For more information contact American Legion Adjutant Leonardo Nelson.
