Commandant Peter Swing called the meeting to order. Eighteen members and four guests were in attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Donuts and coffee were provided.
Sick Call
Peter Swing’s father and father-in-law were both diagnosed with bladder cancer. They are recovering and in good shape. Andy Pucek’s mother-in-law is resting in the hospital after a fall with a broken hip. Leo Nelson’s sister is now cancer-free. George Lincoln Cole’s wife has intestinal flu. Our thoughts and prayers are with all.
Paymaster Report
Andy Pucek stated we have a balance of $825, plus 1,015,000 colones, Toys for Tots 150,000 colones. We thank those officers who generously donated to the MCWLCR and the Toys for Tots program. We thank those members who paid their 2026 annual membership dues. Annual dues can be paid at any meeting.
Toys for Tots
Bring your unwrapped toys to the December meeting. Peter will inventory all donated toys before distribution. Peter mentioned that this year we will distribute toys at the Hospital Nacional de Niños in San José, and Rio Oro PANI (CR Child Services) Orphanage, and the Aldeas Infantiles SOS Costa Rica. Old Business
Thanks to all MCWLCR members and friends who attended the October 25th 250th Marine Corps Anniversary. It was a great evening.
Members voted to participate in the ‘Festival of Lights Santa Ana’ in December. Please, uniform of the day. More info to follow.
The basketball backboard will soon be installed at the school. Those interested in helping install the basketball backboard at the Mina school, the work will be done on Saturday, November 22nd. Thank you, Henry Elizando, for this worthwhile project.
New Business
MCWLCR will plan a Poker Night. Marine Security Group Detachment Commander, GySgt Colby Rogers, will be reassigned in December. More info to follow.
