Commandant Peter Swing called the meeting to order. Sixteen members were in attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read.

Sick Call

John Ostman’s mom fractured her fema in a fall. She is recovering at home. Marine John O’Leary died recently. Members Eddie Casco and Ryan Cheramie are assisting his wife with counseling and paperwork. Thank you Eddie and Ryan.

Paymaster Report

Andy Pucek stated we have a balance of $1925, plus 1,262,000 colones.

Old Business

Peter thanked those members who were present at the meeting at Berkeley Academy on Wednesday, January 28th relating to the JROTC program. The program has ten candidates. A fitness program will be established in the coming months.

MCWLCR planned annual picnic has been reserved for Saturday, March 14th starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Los Arcos Residential Park, Heredia, Cariari. Members, friends and family are welcome, casual dress, please bring a dish and drinks. RSVP by March 1st. We encourage all active members to join the MCWLCR WhatsApp Group Chat.

New Business

Members Henry Elizano and Francisco Aguirre presented a printed ‘Newsletter’ to each MCWLCR member. The ‘Newsletter’ aims to provide important information on security issues in Costa Rica. Members are asked to share the information with your families and friends. Also included is information to contact the national authorities.
