Commandant Peter Swing called the meeting to order. Twelve members and one guest were in attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read.

Sick Call

We welcome back to the meeting member and Chaplain George Lincoln Cole. We keep in our thoughts and prayers those members recovering from illness and surgeries.

Paymaster Report

Andy Pucek reported we have a balance of $1,990, plus 898,000 colones.

Unfinished Business

The First Annual MCWLCR Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament at the Sheraton Hotel Casino, Escazú is scheduled for Thursday thru Saturday, September 24, 25 and 26. Member Charlton Chao mentioned the event is to help support the MCWLCR Toys for Tots Program and Todo Va A Estar Bien Foundation.

The buy-in is ¢50,000. We hope to have 150 players, we need members to contribute time and effort to support the tournament. Charlton introduced guest Paul Sergi, from the Sheraton Hotel Casino. Start time on Thursday is 7 p.m., Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday a ‘Meet & Greet’ at the ‘Diamond Ballroom’ will start at 2 p.m. Please, bring a toy to the tournament.

The 251st Marine Corps Birthday Ball is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th at the Barcelo Hotel, San José. Tickets are now on sale.

A Golf Tournament is taking place, Friday, December 4th at 7:30 a.m. at the Valle del Sol Golf Course, Pozos, San José. Buy-in is $200 per player.
