Formerly the Warriors Helping Warriors program, the program provides leadership and enables non-medical care to combat and non-combat wounded, ill, and injured Marines, sailors attached to Marine units, and to members of other branches of the service, and their family in order to maximize their recovery as they return to duty or transition to civilian life. Beginning in 2014 the Marine Corps League Costa Rica was able to bring the first group of ten warriors, from the different branches of the service to Costa Rica, in 2015 for a seven day, six night retreat. Then again in 2016 and 2017 MCLCR brought another group of ten warriors to enjoy the same and in May 2018 five warriors with their spouse. Costa Rica Warriors Retreat 2019 began May 20th to May 25th. Ron Couture reached out to MCWLCR on April 5th, 2022: "I wanted to get all of us members involved in this outstanding effort to try and sponsor a permanent Warrior Retreat location here is Costa Rica. Basically we want to purchase a property and offer any veteran a huge discount to stay here in CR with all the amenities that we normally offer to our Warrior Retreat participants.
