The object of Close Order Drill is to teach Cadets by exercise to obey orders and to do so immediately in the correct way. Close order drill is one foundation of discipline, esprit de corps, pride and teamwork. Additionally, it is still one of the finest methods for developing confidence and troop leading abilities in subordinate leaders.
Drill Team participation is co-ed and open to all cadets. Our program competes in both basic and exhibition Armed Drill, Unarmed
Drill, and Color Guard.
Team members travel extensively to compete against other area 8 NJROTC programs within the greater Houston areas. Drill Team practice is after school on M-F every week.
Drill Team members, due to their personal commitment to the self-discipline required for drill excellence, are often requested to represent Katy ISD for color guards, community events, parades, and rodeos.
