•After reviewing students’ transcripts, developed an individualized learning plan to help them recover credits and graduate with their cohort.
•Set individual daily goals for each student, keeping daily, weekly and monthly records of recovery progress.
•Implemented a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) system to recognize and reward academic growth and personal decision making.
•Tracked schoolwide course completions and submitted information to the registrar so that student transcripts could be updated.
•Developed and implemented Extended Eagle Academy, allowing students an additional four weeks to achieve a June graduation date.
•Presented to the TUSD Governing Board in August 2017 with the goal of making the Eagle Academy Program a districtwide offering.

•Contributed to the completion of the School/Continuous Improvement Plan in both 2011, 2012 and 2013.
•Developed AIMS Saturday School workbook while coordinating schedules, notifications, student sign-up and paperwork; joined other English teachers in instructing on those Saturdays.
•Developed and enacted the school Literacy Initiative (2013 to 2015) to require students to read at least two times per week in their ECAP classes.
•Worked in conjunction with central office leaders from the central office and peers to present the College and Career Academy Plan to the Sunnyside Governing Board.

•Designed & implemented multiple curricula for English 10 that incorporated elements of vocabulary, grammar, literature, composition, reading fluency and cultural context.
•Successfully implemented SUSD’s 1:1 Laptop Initiative and was selected as a school representative of innovation and technology for the Digital Promise visit of over 40 superintendents (March 27, 2014).
•Represented Desert View Upper School teachers in the 1:1 Technology Integration & Instruction Round Table with representatives of Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education (September 11, 2013).
Head Swim Coach, Desert View High School, August 2007 – June 2011
•Developed a comprehensive handbook for swimmers and parents.
•Planned daily workouts incorporating stretching, cardio fitness, dryland strength training, in-water stroke & strength work.
•Communicated between members of the athletics and transportation departments to gain materials and coordinate practices/meets.
English 9 & 12 Teacher, Tucson Accelerated High School, August 2005 – July 2007
•Designed standards-based curricula for English 9A & B and 12A & B that incorporated vocabulary, grammar, literature and composition activities.
•Produced various handouts, packets, worksheets and assessments on concepts relating to research, writing, history, literature, authors and grammar by combining information from ten to fifteen sources.
•Aided the success of students with various disabilities (learning, emotional, other health impairments and mildly mentally retarded) by taking part in individualized educational plan meetings, connecting with parents for additional support and working with said students individually.
