Mountain Bike Search and Rescue
MBSAR or Mountain Bike Search and Rescue is a program for performing SAR activities with bikes.
Many SAR and Disaster Response Team use Mountain Bikes.
This will be a free and paid service to help those teams around the world.
QUESTIONS FOR YOU ...
Are you interested in, or do Search and Rescue (SAR)?
Do you ride Mountain Bikes in your team or interested in doing so?
Could you credibly use Mountain Bikes in other ways? (Like medical responding or Command Support?)
If the answer may be "Yes" then the Mountain Bike Search and Rescue (MBSAR) program may be for you!
And if you are in a team, it might be perfect for your team too!
There is a lot of difference between people who can ride a bike and just jump on one and look for a missing person versus a properly trained searcher who is trained on MTB Operations.
The difference is several, kit, equipment, riding skills, search skills, medical and rescue skills and enhanced relevant knowledge such as how to repair and maintain your bike and what bike to choose in the first place. That's what this website and course is for. That is the MBSAR Program on this site.
