Volunteer Experience

Food Service Volunteer - Edgewood Vista

Edgewood Vista is a long-term care facility located in Fargo, ND. I was able to volunteer at the facility from September of 2019 to December of 2019. At Edgewood Vista, I volunteered within the kitchen, prepping food and drink for residents while observing and learning large capacity production procedures. Emphasis was placed on the use of standardized recipes, along with attention to special diets.

Sports Nutrition Intern - NDSU

From January of 2020 to March of 2020, I was given the opportunity to volunteer twice per week with the North Dakota State University Sports Dietitian. I worked at the Shack, which is the main workout facility for all NDSU teams. At the shack, I made protein shakes for athletes post-workout, stocked coolers and pantries with healthy snacks, and provided nutrition education to athletes.

Campus Food Pantry Leader - Concordia College

In 2020, Concordia College opened their very own food pantry, acccesible to all students no matter their situation. Upon it's conception, I was able to get involved through receiving orders, stocking shelves, and discarding spoiled goods. I also was in charge of arranging weekly volunteer events with other students and faculty. I took part in a promotional video that was sent to Concordia faculty encouraging donations and advocay, you can view that video through the link below.
