I went to Cram Elementary and promptly transferred to an online school program when I reached middle school. In 2016, I transferred to a charter school called Gorman Learning Center and finished both middle school, then high school in 2021! As of May 2024, I graduated as one of four students in Crafton Hills College's ASL Program.

The American Deaf Experience
Grade Received: B
Concepts I Learned: The struggles the Deaf community faces due to oppression. As a class, we examined the Deaf community's accomplishments, intersectionality, and how to be respectful and dependable as allies. This class especially highlights Deaf culture and the respect it deserves.
Intro To Interpreting
Grade Received: A
What I Learned: The history behind interpreting and its different methods and requirements. This highlights different forms of interpreting and signing (such as ASL and SEE) as well as the various casual, intimate, formal, frozen, and consultive registers of ASL.
ASL 101
Grade Received: A
Concepts Learned: Basic nouns, verbs, classifiers, and numbers. The use of numbers is highlighted here as well as simple vocabulary terms (I.E. family, drinks, and food).
ASL 102

Concepts Learned: Vocabulary and descriptive signs for calendar and planned events, times of day, errands, clothing and accessories, hobbies, special interests, and sports!
ASL 103

Concepts Learned: Vocabulary and classifiers surrounding a home's floor plan, housework, finances, workplace, careers, and wellness and fitness!

Concepts Learned: This class's main focus was on accurately translating concepts instead of just "meaning". The words used in English don't necessarily equate the same meaning in American Sign Language. In ASL it's important to visualize what your sentence means!
