Welcome all to the NLSCA Canadian Chess Challenge (CCC) Provincial Final Tournament. This will take place online via Lichess and Zoom on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
The first place winner from each grade will be invited to represent their respective grade on Team Newfoundland and Labrador in the CCC National Final to be played in June 2022 online. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 players in each section.

Time: 9:30am-3pm (approx.)
Platform: Online via Lichess and Zoom. All players must register with a Lichess account. Lichess is free to signup.
Fee: $10.00 to be pre-paid with registration.
Medals and Awards: Medals will be mailed to the top 3 players in each grade.
All players from grades K-12 in Newfoundland and Labrador are invited to attend. Players will be separated into 13 sections corresponding to their grade. Sections may be combined based on numbers but results will be based on performance against others in a player's grade.
· Grades K-12
The first place winners from each of grades 1-12 will be invited to represent their grade on Team NL at the National Final to be played online in June 2022. Unfortunately, there is no kindergarten division at the national final. Players in kindergarten will still be awarded medals.
Tournament will be scholastic rated. Tournament format is 5 rounds Swiss System pairings, or Round Robin depending on registration numbers per section. A decision will be made once registration is finalized.
Games are 25-mins plus 5-second increment per player. Tiebreakers will be played at 10-mins plus 5-second increment per player if necessary. Please notify the tournament director if you are unable to play all 5 rounds.
Registration refunds will be available until the end of the registration period.
