Maps are super important visualisation tools for dialectologists. Dialectologists use maps not only to show dialect areas, but also visualise data in order to reconstruct linguistic history, find geographical correlates, classify dialects, understand diffusion etc. The maps below are some of the maps I have (re)created for both qualitative and quantitative analyses.

I also give QGIS/ digital mapping workshops at unviersities. Previously, I have given workshops in the Netherlands and Belgium, and I will give one in the UK later this year.
