What is 6th Grade Math Extended?
Math 6E is an advanced placement math class. This class covers all of 6th grade and half of 7th.
At the end of the year, students will be taking the 6th grade CAT (Computer Adaptive Test).
What do you Need for Class?
Hard Cover Composition Book for notes
Pencil Box with Pencils, Glue Stick, Scissors, Colored Pencils, and Sharpener to stay at school
Where is the Textbook?
Instead of a textbook, the school has paid for each of you to have your own IXL account. This account may be used at school or at home.
I will place a gold star next to each content standard that you will need to master at 90% or higher. See me if something is too difficult. https://www.ixl.com/
Why Practice?
In this class you will be asked to practice math skills and vocabulary words. Practice is for people who already know how to do something and want to move that skill into long-term memory.
Flocabulary Website
Your vocabulary words are posted on this Google website, under each unit. You are responsible for studying them. I will be using Flocabulary to give you extra practice and assess your understanding. https://www.flocabulary.com
Quizlet
Quizlet is another program that could help you practice your vocabulary. https://quizlet.com/

Class Dojo
Class Dojo is a program we use to reward students for good behavior. Your parents will be able to sign up to see how you are doing. Monthly rewards are given out, such as outdoor lunch, open gym, and jersey day.
Assigned Seating
Unless we have made previous arrangements, you have an assigned seat in the class.
