Tests & Final Exam

General Test Information

• Four tests and a comprehensive final exam will be given during the semester. 

• There will be a No Calculator portion on each test and exam. Notes will be discussed prior to each test.

• Test dates are listed in the weekly Canvas Modules and on the Important Dates and Tentative Course Schedule page of this syllabus. 

• I do not drop any test scores; however, I do provide a make-up test day at the end of the semester. Please see the Make-Up Tests section below for more information.

Make-Up Test Policy

• You may make-up ONE test during the semester.

• If you know you will be absent or are ill on the day of a scheduled test, please tell me in person or e-mail me in advance of the scheduled test. 

• If you miss a test, you may make it up during my office hours.

  • If you wish to make-up a missed test, it is your responsibility to notify me via email at least one week in advance so I can write and print the make-up test so it's ready for you. 

  • Please note that a missed test must be made up before the day of the next test.

• Please note that this is NOT a re-take opportunity – this policy is designed to give students who miss a test the chance to demonstrate their understanding of the material so they can earn those missing points.

Cheating and Academic Integrity:

I strongly encourage students to work together outside of class on homework assignments. During class, I also encourage students to work together on class examples and group quizzes. 

However, students must do their own work on tests. 

There will be some resources allowed with most tests in this class. These resources will generally be restricted to a calculator (for some parts of some tests) and a formula sheet. (These resources will be specified before each test and will be listed at the top of the test.) No other resources (such as a textbook, class notes, computer, cell phone, etc.) will be allowed. 

Students who cheat or assist other students in cheating will receive no credit (0%) on that test and a report documenting the incident will be filed. 

A second offense may result in permanent dismissal from the class and an F in the course.  

Long story short, please don't cheat!
