Please watch this brief (10-minute) video so you know what your instructors expect from you as a student. This is especially important if this is your first semester at college!
Please come to class ready to learn! I expect you to act respectfully and pay attention while in class. The best way to learn is through participation, listening actively, and by being polite even when we disagree with another’s viewpoint.
Please come to class with the tools you need to succeed: paper, pencil, eraser, calculator, etc.
Please make sure your cell phone is on silent mode or turned off.
Please arrive on time, stay the entire class period, and don't pack up before I have concluded the lecture. If you will be arriving late or leaving early, please do me the courtesy of sending me an email or informing me in person in class.
We will conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects our awareness of common standards of decency and the rights of others.
Please read SRJC's policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Code of Conduct so you are aware of my responsibilities as your instructor and your rights and responsibilities as a student.

I strongly encourage students to work together outside of class on homework assignments. During class, I also encourage students to work together on class examples and group quizzes.
However, students must do their own work on tests.
There will be some resources allowed with most tests in this class. These resources will generally be restricted to a calculator (for some parts of some tests) and a formula sheet. (These resources will be specified before each test and will be listed at the top of the test.) No other resources (such as a textbook, class notes, computer, cell phone, etc.) will be allowed.
Students who cheat or assist other students in cheating will receive no credit (0%) on that test and a report documenting the incident will be filed.
A second offense may result in permanent dismissal from the class and an F in the course.
Long story short, please don't cheat!
