Tests & Final Exam
General Test Information
Three tests and a comprehensive final exam will be given during the semester.
Test dates are listed in the weekly Canvas Modules and on the Important Dates and Tentative Course Schedule page of this syllabus.
I do not drop any test scores; however, I do provide a make-up test day at the end of the semester. Please see the Make-Up Tests section below for more information.
Final Exam Information
Our Math 15 and Math 215 Final Exams are both scheduled for Thursday, December 14.
Math 15 Final Exam, 12/14, 10 AM - 12:45 PM
Math 215 Final Exam (Project Poster Presentation), 12/14, 1 - 3:45 PM
Your Math 215 Final may also be completed early by presenting your project at the Petaluma Student Research Conference on Thursday, December 7. See the Project Page of this syllabus for additional information.
Practice Tests
A Practice Test will be available before each test. These practice tests are a great way to helo you prepare for our in-class tests.
Be sure that you spend time finishing these Practice Tests before taking the actual test in class. These Practice Tests will be graded and are worth points toward your Math 215 grade!
Make-Up Test Policy
If you know you will be absent or are ill on the day of a scheduled test, please tell me in person or e-mail me in advance of the day of the scheduled test.
If you miss a test, you may make it up during my office hours.
If you wish to make-up a missed test, it is your responsibility to notify me via email at least on week in advance so I can write the make-up test and have it ready for you.
Please note that a missed test must be made up before the day of the next test.
Please note that this is NOT a re-take opportunity – this policy is designed to give students who miss a test the chance to demonstrate their understanding of the material so they can earn those missing points.
Cheating and Academic Integrity:
I strongly encourage students to work together outside of class on the class project and homework assignments. During class, I also encourage students to work together on classwork and group quizzes.
However, students must do their own work on tests.
You will be allowed to use your graphing calculator and notes on every test in this class. (These resources will be specified before each test and will be listed at the top of the test.) No other resources (such as a textbook, class notes, computer, cell phone, etc.) will be allowed.
Students who cheat or assist other students in cheating will receive no credit (0%) on that test and a report documenting the incident will be filed.
A second offense may result in permanent dismissal from the class and an F in the course.
Long story short, please don't cheat!
