Postal address: School of Engineering, Institute of Systems Engineering, HES-SO Valais-Wallis, Route de L’industrie 23, Sion, Switzerland

I’m an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, Institute of Systems Engineering, HES-SO Valais-Wallis and PI in the Axe - Device & Data - at the Sense Research and Innovation Center. I'm also an affiliated collaborator of the Radiology Department of the  Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). I'm the leader of the Mathematical Technologies Research Unit.

During my double PhD in mathematics and cognitive neuroscience, I trained as a computational neuroscientist and applied mathematician, contributing in developing models for perception and brain dynamics, under the supervision of Prof. Sarti (CAMS, Paris) and Prof. Citti (UNIBO, Italy). During my post-doc and as a Research Scientist, I worked in the research unit directed by Prof. Micah M. Murray, the LINE, Laboratory for Investigative Neurophysiology, between the Radiology Department of the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) and University of Lausanne (UNIL), Switzerland.  I'm a former employee of the Jules Gonin Eye Hospital and of the CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging, with whom I still collaborate. Nowadays I'm extending my field of expertise to neuro-imaging, focusing on the development of MRI techniques for eye and brain imaging, as well as EEG methods (and physiological recordings) for the identification of neural correlates, biomarkers and devices development. Particularly, I currently focus on the development of neuro-devices, with applications in medicine and vision rehabilitation.

@ curiosity about Benedetta, beyond science

Meanwhile I try to keep in mind the importance of our Q.O.L (quality of life) (click on it). I enjoy mountains, meditating and contemplating the beauty of the world.

On that note, food represents a very crucial theme for me: recently a fellow countryman named V. Longo has discovered this very interesting new approach to eating: [pdf link].

I volunteer for Caritas Vaud on a quite delicate but crucial initiative ALV, as well as I'm trying to build projects with an impact on our lifestyle (minimize food-waste, recycling, etc). You can read more about it here (italian link).

I'm enthusiastic about disseminating science in the right way: I'm part of the project Penne amiche della scienza.
