Short Bio.
I am a Swiss national, born in Geneva. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Microtechnics with a specialization in Electronic Engineering from HES-SO Geneva. My Bachelor's thesis introduced me to the field of deep learning within computer vision, where I conducted semantic segmentation of plant species to estimate soil hydrogen levels.
I then pursued a master's degree in Data-Science at HES-SO Lausanne. Throughout my master's program, I have worked on various projects focused on the medical domain, including cerebral vascular network segmentation using multiple non-coregistered imaging modalities (MRI, CT, 3DRA).
My first project at Mat-Tech Lab was a summer job in which I developed a deep-learning algorithm to correct rigid motion of the head in raw fMRI data.
As a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Anschuetz Lukas from CHUV and Prof. Benedetta Franceschiello, I am working on three distinct projects. Each project focuses on imaging the anatomy and function of different sensory organs — the retinal nerve, auditory cortex and Eustachian tubes — at sub-millimeter spatial scale and high temporal resolution. The developed framework will remove the need for organ stationarity, allowing evaluation of organ behavior non-invasively and unanesthetized while undergoing motion and/or stimuli.
