Short Bio.
I am a joint PhD student at the Department of Data Analysis at Ghent University and the Mat-Tech Lab. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Lausanne and a Master’s degree in Psychology, with a specialization in Neuropsychology, from Maastricht University.
My interest in neuroimaging emerged during my Master’s research internship at the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience at Maastricht University and the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience at EPFL. This experience deepened my understanding of the methodological aspects of functional MRI and culminated in my Master’s thesis, in which I examined how physiological noise correction affects the reliability of functional connectivity measures.
In my current PhD project, I will contribute to the acquisition and preprocessing of structural and functional MRI data, as well as hemodynamic response modeling and functional connectivity analyses. By refining these methodological approaches, the research aims to improve the characterization of neural activity, eventually contributing to a better understanding of the neurovascular interplay. This topic is relevant to clinical neuroscience and may help inform future applications related to neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric disorders.
