In today's prison system, African Americans have the highest incarceration rate. They are 5 times more likely to be imprisoned than white people. Hispanics are 2 times more likely to be imprisoned than white people. This says a lot because white people are the leading majority in America. It does not make any sense that minorities make up the majority of the US's prison systems.
For example at Rikers Island, approximately 56 percent are Black, 33 percent are Hispanic, and 7.5 percent are white.
