What Momma Left Me

This haiku is about the question Serenity and Danny are grappling with in What Momma Left Me. Serenity and Danny did have very good examples for parents, and they are wondering if they will become just like them. They are wondering if everyone is destined to become their parents or if they can create their own future.

I chose to make a collage representing Serenity's mind. Her mind is full of different thoughts that she can't share.  There are bad memories of her mom, her childhood kitchen, and Ricky's death. The Our Father prayer is there ringing in her ears, and the cross is there to represent her confusion with God. Danny is in the middle because she is constantly worried about him. Her friends are there too because she worries about their troubles as much as they do.
