I Take Photos for Fun, Too.
I Take Photos for Fun, Too.
I didn't only take photos for publications. I bring my camera wherever I go, capturing life's everyday moments. The photos I've displayed below are the results of the travels and experiences I've documented over the past five years.
One of my first paid freelancer assignments, I attended Newton's Juneteenth celebration at Hyde Park. This was one of my favorite freelance assignments because it enabled me to capture the vibrant colors at every stand and the shared energy within the crowd.
Every couple weeks, my friends and I used to make hours-long trips into the main areas of Boston, including Copley and Seaport. These trips ignited my interest in street and urban photography, one of my favorite genres after aviation photography.
When my photography teacher, Ms. Penney, introduced our film unit, I asked her why still uses those old cameras if we have newer, digital ones. Now, after months of practicing film photography myself, I understand why Ms. Penney still values the film camera so much: they always produce the most unique, nostalgic photos that can rarely be replicated through virtual editing. I've learned this through my film photography experiences in both Newton South and on a road trip to Philadelphia last spring.
Just a couple miles from my house lies the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, what started my automotive photography stint. Every Sunday, I would drop by the car shows, wandering through the sea of cars as I snapped photos of each one.
