During the months following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, my love for aviation took me to another field that so many aviation geeks pursue: photography. I spent hours every day looking at aircraft photos, fascinated by how the photographers captured both the beauty of the world and aviation in one frame. Ultimately, on a warm, summer day in 2020, I decided to test out my new interest in an attempt to leave the house. Five years and 50,000 photos later, I take my camera almost everywhere I go -- not only photographing airplanes, but capturing the beauty of life with every step I take.
On Denebola, I covered a variety of school events, ranging from graduation to baseball games. My photojournalism covered every aspect of the school -- forming the cultural identity of Newton South.
With every photo, I captured the beauty of aviation -- what everyone sees and what most people may not see. Taking photos of aircraft not only served as great computer screensavers, but they enabled me to connect the aviation enthusiast community with my work.
