On my way back to Cambridge, I experienced a mirage — the CUP logo appeared! I took it as a good sign.
A review of my book Normative Reasons from a Naturalistic Point of View, published in the journal Ethical Theory and Moral Practice, by Elizabeth Ventham. https://doi.org/10.1007/s10677-025-10497-w
As a slightly older lad (but still clinging to youth), I was proud to win the Philosophical Explorations Essay Prize in 2017 for my paper "Normative reasons: response-dependence and the problem of idealization". They did announce I was the winner, though, in such tiny letters. This, among other things, later led to my receiving the award for the best young researcher in the humanities, awarded by the Republic of Croatia. So everything turned out fine!
Married with two kids. David and Ema's interpretation of The Scream. A fitting metaphor for our current phase of life! (Glasgow, Science Center, 2025, during BSPS 2025)
As a young lad, I was quite proud when a paper of mine on self-deception — published in the fringy Balkan Journal of Philosophy — caught the eye of José Luis Bermúdez himself, who then went on to write a response. Naturally, I wasn’t convinced by his counterarguments (sorry, José!), but instead of starting an academic duel, I chose the more sophisticated route: I hid… and published my reply in Croatian. 😄
Back in the day, I attended a German language course at a school in Vienna (Austria) with a group of fellow attendees from all over the place. I was certified at the B2 level. Good times!
