FUTURECRAFT
The studio will explore the general theme of CRITICAL REGIONALISM through the idea of craft which is seen as a physical, temporal and spiritual manifestation of social, design and architecture. Craft is an indispensable part of the people, their culture and architecture that speaks of meaning, form, material and atmosphere and shows how architecture (read: building) is lived, experienced and assembled.
Students will attempt to design and create meaningful architecture (space and form) using digital or handcraft and other design methodologies. Students will also explore the correlation between people and the material culture, the intangible and tangible, volume or form, surface, light, context of place, building tectonics, future scenarios and others.
