Marauder Champs 2019

Hosted by Weiti Boating Club.

6 & 7th April 2019.

Even though Saturday was very wet with not much wind the racing was fun and there was some healthy competition.  Thirteen Marauders entered the racing with a couple of new comers to add to the pot.

Facilities:

Weiti provided us with a boat mooring and car parking for the weekend.  We had use of the club facilities - toilets, showers, lounge and BBQ.

Friday and Saturday evening the bar was open and the BBQ was available for the crew and friends to cook their dinners.

The event and Entrants

In the 3 divisions these yachts entered:

• • spinnaker - Blue Sapphire, Flasher,  Hot Prospect, Manawa,  Southern Rebel

  • non-spinnaker - Absconder, Aquilo, Brush Strokes, Eyelure, Pandour and Touch o Glass 

  • non class - Cordite and Kasmic

On Saturday we only had 3 windward-leeward races since the first was abandoned because lack of wind meant no-one finished in time and on Sunday there were 2 triangular races.  This variation added to the enjoyment of the event.  Check out the photos in the gallery.
