To the people who live and work in the MAPC region,
As we close out the calendar year, I am so excited to share with you all of the amazing work that has happened in our subregions. The Subregional Program is a way for cities and towns in the region to connect with each other on a more local level, together with MAPC staff. Subregional meetings and gatherings are an opportunity to discuss shared local priorities and challenges and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
The 101 cities and towns that MAPC serves are diverse and our plan for the region is both broad and deep. The Subregional Program is how we turn our plans into action at the local level, and we are so grateful for the role that you play in that.
In FY25, the Subregional Program focused on:
Creating best practices in our work that can be shared across the entire MAPC region;
Pursuing collaborative and subregional projects focused on advancing affordable housing, creating inclusive engagement, and investing in shared services to strengthen intra-municipal collaboration; and,
Helping municipalities adopt statewide policy changes around housing and clean energy and prepare for large regional events like the World Cup.
I hope this annual report gives you a sense of the work that we have done together. If you're reading this and thinking about getting more involved, please reach out.
Best,
Lizzi Weyant
