Faithful- The root is faith. properly to build up or support; to foster as a parent or nurse; figuratively to render (or be) firm, to trust or believe, to be permanent or quiet; morally to be true or certain

What does it mean that God is faithful?
Deu_7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Rev_19:11 a And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True...
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
1Th_5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
2Th_3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil
Look at the definition again, how does his being faithful help give us a firm foundation?
He is our support and rock!
1Co_1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Co_10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
How does his being faithful help with temptation?
He promises to provide a way out of temptation, and is always there for us to turn to. We can trust him in any situation, he is morally true, and so always points us in the right direction.
Heb_10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
We shouldn't get scared by the world, and their desire to see Christians fall. Stand firm in what you believe and God will bless.
If God is faithful with us then we should also seek to be faithful to him and those around us.
Psa_31:23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
How can we be faithful to Christ?
Rely on him and him alone, keep your word, spend time with him.
To those around us?
Be a solid foundation and light. Keep your word and point them to Jesus.
2Ti_2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Even if we fall, and fail him, he is still faithful!
