God is the Creator

A creator is a person or thing that brings something into existence. It is also used as a name for God.

synonyms: author, writer, designer, deviser, maker, producer

If God is our creator, what does that mean for us? If you aren't actually the supreme being in your life, how would that affect you?

1. He was wise in creation:

Jeremiah 51:15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the

heaven by his understanding.

Psalm 136:5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

• He made everything in his infinite wisdom, and does not make mistakes. Just like an inventor knows the purpose of everything he makes, God made you for a purpose, and he knows exactly what that is. We should go to him when we are seeking direction, because He has the best insight.
• The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become-because He made us. He invented us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be. The question is not what we intended ourselves to be, but what He intended us to be when He made us.

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand

Are we letting God guide our lives? Are we seeking him, and his direction? Do we trust the plan he has for us?

• Sometimes we may feel like God doesn't understand something we're going through, or things that we think we need, but he does. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and is using that knowledge to work in us and in our lives. We try to act like we are the ones who designed or are designing our lives but we aren't.

Isaiah 29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

2. He made us in his image:

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

If we are made in the image of God, we should seek to be like him more. How can we do this?

Live as Christ lived.

• We are as close to Him as we want to be. If we want to be more Christ-like, we need to put in the time and effort.
  • Can we truly call ourselves "Christians"? Being Christ-like is more than just being saved. We need to act as Christ would act. Lovingly, patiently, kindly, etc. If we do not, we are simply telling him thanks for the Cross, I can live how I want to from now on.
• Yes we have freedom in Him, but we shouldn't use that as an excuse to do whatever we want.

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

• If he made everyone, we should also show love to them, because they are God's masterpieces too.

Mal 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
