In January, our craft theme is the Chinese dragon. Students will focus on practicing safe and proper scissor skills while creating their own dragons.
Using the teacher’s template, children will cut, assemble, and decorate a variety of colorful Chinese dragons, each with their own creative touch.
In February, students will create Chinese Zodiac animal masks while learning the names of all 12 Zodiac animals in Chinese.
Through coloring and fun role-play activities, children will practice pronunciation and build speaking confidence. They will also learn 12 New Year greetings inspired by the Zodiac animals.
A creative and engaging way to explore Chinese language and culture!
In March, students will practice writing Chinese characters on heart-shaped cards.
By writing simple blessing phrases and kind messages, children will strengthen their handwriting skills while developing a love for writing in Chinese.
April Craft Project – The Story of Baskets! 🧺
In April, our class will explore the history of baskets while learning how people have used them for thousands of years. Students will try their own hands at weaving a small basket, experiencing the fun and creativity of traditional crafts.
Along the way, we will also learn new Chinese vocabulary related to storage and organization. Students are encouraged to share and talk about the storage tools they use at home—such as baskets, boxes, bins, and shelves.
By weaving, sharing, and learning together, students will expand their Chinese vocabulary while enjoying a hands-on craft experience!

3. Where do you keep your toys?
On the very first day of class, we’ll use games, hands-on activities, and creative crafts to help children discover the structure of Chinese characters.
Instead of simply memorizing or copying characters, students will play, explore, build, and create as they become familiar with how Chinese characters are put together.
This fun and interactive introduction will help your children develop a strong foundation for future Chinese character writing and learning.
We’ll start with something everyone knows and loves—family!
Students will make their very own finger puppets and bring the family to life while learning the fun “Finger Family” song.
Through music, rhythm, movement, and play, students will learn new Chinese words in a fun and memorable way—because learning a new language can be as easy as singing along and having fun!
Students will use their imagination to create their own Christmas boots. Through this fun hands-on activity, they will explore colors, patterns, and festive decorations while expressing their creativity.
Each boot will be unique and full of holiday spirit!🎄🧑🎄🎁
If your family does not celebrate Christmas, please let us know in advance so we can provide an alternative project.
