Library Cards

Library Membership

• Library membership is free to residents who live in Mancelona Township and Custer Township.

• Persons who do not live in Mancelona Township may obtain a NON-RESIDENT library card for an annual fee of $20.00, cash only.

• The minimum age to obtain a Library card is 5 years.

• Adult cards are issued to persons 18 years of age and older. Teen cards are issued to persons 13 years old to 17 years old. Juvenile cards are issued from 5 years old to 12 years old. Teens and juveniles must have a responsible party attached to their card. This would be a parent or legal guardian of said Teens and Juveniles. This requires the responsible party to have their own library account. 

• A charge of $1.00 will be assessed for the replacement of lost or damaged cards. Patrons must present up to date picture IDs to receive a replacement card. 

Registration

• Each patron will be asked to complete a membership application form. This form requires:

1. Full legal name

2. Street address and Mailing address if not the same

3. One personal phone number and one alternate contact number (i.e. family member, friend, employer)

4. Up to date picture ID

5. Proof of Mancelona residency or employment if picture ID does not have current address (i.e. rent or car tag receipts, postmarked mail, hunting license, pay stub)

6. Date of birth

• It is the patrons responsibility to inform the library of change of address or telephone number(s)

• A card will not be issued until the patron has provided all essential information requested on the membership application form.

• Cards are renewed every year free of charge for residential patrons.

• Non-Residents will be charged $20.00 annually.
