Rosemarie Bongers is an assistant teaching professor at the University of California, Merced. Her mathematical research focuses on fractal geometry and complex analysis, and she also does computational work with education-related data sets. She is also a trans woman; in her spare time, she loves visiting queer book stores, baking bread, playing music, and has hiked to the highest points of 25 US states.
Keynote title: Transitions in a mathematical career
Keynote abstract: When I began graduate school, I identified as a man who was only interested in harmonic analysis; now I am a trans woman who combines analysis, data science, and activism as a teaching professor in an applied department. In this talk, I'll tell a story about how these transitions fit together. As I discuss my path into mathematics, I'll also talk about how this field helped me find my self and my community.
Math Major, Bryn Mawr College
Kir is a senior math major and does research in computational biology. Kir is also an international student from Moscow, Russia! He hopes that MaM day will give prospective students a look at the variety of interests that math skills can help support.
Math Major, Haverford College
I am a senior Haverford mathematics major with a focus in statistics and a minor in pure math. My interest is in the theoretical side of statistics (leaning more towards probability), and I also have interest in actuarial science.
Math PhD Student, Bryn Mawr College
Dalena is a 5th year PhD candidate in the Math Department. She is the math department representative to the Graduate Student Association Executive Board, organizer of the Mathematics Graduate Research Seminar, and also the Social Media Coordinator at Meet a Mathematician.

Abhi Suresh studied mathematics and educational studies at Bryn Mawr College. A Girls Who Invest alumni, she is currently an investment professional, with experience in private equity fund investments, and now she covers global equities and hedge funds. While at Bryn Mawr, Abhi was actively involved across campus, including as SGA Treasurer, a Student Consultant as a part of the Teaching and Learning Institute, and within the Math Department as a Major Representative and Homework Grader.
