Meet a Mathematician (MaM) Day is a Bi-Co community event about what it means to be in mathematical spaces.
This day grows out of Meet a Mathematician, a collection of short video interviews with mathematicians. The project shares stories of mathematicians from historically excluded backgrounds, with the hope of introducing students to role models and fostering a sense of community. Because storytelling is a powerful practice, we will do that together at MaM Day.
The focus of MaM Day is on people -- how we got here, what shaped our journeys, and how we build community and a sense of belonging along the way. We want to honor the many paths that bring us here and make room to share our stories with one another.
You are welcome to submit a video even after the February 10 deadline. With your permission, submissions will be included in a Bi-Co video collection that we will share with the Bi-Co community.
If you would like your video to be considered for the community video screenings during the event, please submit it by February 10.
