In any event, it might be helpful to have a local contact, especially one who knows more than the travel agent back home.
Your travel agent never mentioned the ruins. What other interesting island secrets did they miss? The locals always know about the best places to eat, and hidden gems that social media influencers haven't invaded.
You don't have a chance to ask the man any questions before everyone disembarks. At the small carousel, you either lose him in the crowd or realize he has nothing to collect.
In the shuttle on the way to the hotel, you turn the card over in your fingers imagining what kind of secrets the island offers.
