Totem Pole: Learning Journey
Item #2
Item #2
The time has come to reflect upon our learning. Take some private reasoning time to think back to all that you have learned since our last time together. This month you are going to make the next symbol on your totem pole of learning.
Not only are we going to highlight our learning with our new symbol, but we are going to spruce up the fun in how we showcase our learning.
Are you ready?
Take 60-90 seconds in silence and reflect on your learning. Think back to the goal you set for yourself in the last meeting. Did you reach the goal? Why or why not? Did a new pathway of learning develop since our last meeting?
Jot down the ideas and think about what element you want to showcase on your totem pole.
Now comes the part where you need to take your learning and connect to a symbol.
This time we are opening the floodgates. Your symbol does not need to be an animal. It can be any symbol, but it must connect to your learning journey. Please feel free to use animal symbols if you want to keep that theme going, but the choice is now yours.
There are some links at the bottom of this page to get you started if stuck.
Begin to sketch out what it is that you are going to create
Now comes the fun part! You are going to paint the symbol. We do have one caveat!
The paintbrushes are not ordinary paintbrushes. We have a fun assortment of paintbrushes for you to choose from.
Have fun and let your judgment go! Embrace the fun and play of being a child again.
Each person can then record a Flipgrid video explaining their build and symbols. Print and add the QR code to the corner so anyone can come in and learn about what people are learning.

Once it is final and ready, then hang up it on top of your first symbol. Be proud.
Check out the others.
Leave a Flipgrid response to others who have shared.
Celebrate the learning!
