Harvest Season

Here is a general challenge that can be used at any level and any class. This can be as quick or as long as you see fit.

Sometimes we need to change how we allow our students to express their learning. In this activity, student solo, but maybe you want to group them(which is perfectly fine). This can be done in station rotation or as whole class.

Students will spend time drawing on paper their design. Give them private reasoning time. It is important to not always jump right into the making. Give them time to process.

Perhaps have them gather pictures and create a vision board. Some kids might not have a clue about farming, tractors, and harvest season.

YOU are the expert. You know your kids best so make sure you adapt the idea to help them feel successful.

Depending on what you teach this may or may not be of benefit so you could easily swap out tractor with a vocab word, key concept, or person that you are teaching.

Make sure there is an element of sharing. The expression of learning is vital to completing the learning cycle.

What are the constraints?

None. Well I guess the constraints are your imagination and the amount of pieces you have access to.

Consider time and any key elements you want expressed through the builds.

Take pictures, make animation, create a video, make a comic. Show us your work!
