Modifications are changes in what a student is expected to learn. The changes are made to provide a student opportunities to participate meaningfully and productively along with other students in classroom and school learning experiences.Modifications include changes in the following: instructional level content and performance criteria.
Mainstreaming of special education: Mainstreaming does not involve putting a child full-time in a special school. A student who spends the entire day in a regular classroom with non-disabled peers is considered fully included. Mainstreaming does not involve teaching the child outside of school.
