Mail & Package Information

University Park North & South Residents

Your Packages at University Park

How to Address Packages

As a University Park North/South resident, you have two options to address your package:

  • Directly to your apartment
  • Towers at Centennial Square Mail Room.

You are required to address your mail and packages correctly. Please do not deviate from this format. Mail that deviates from the format above and/or does not contain appropriate student information (student name, or apt#) may be delayed for delivery and/or "Return to Sender" by the carrier (return service for first-class mail only).

We do not accept mail and packages at the University Park North / South community desks.

Package Delivery to Your Apartment

If you address your packages to be delivered to your apartment in University Park North / South, the mail carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS etc) will drop it off directly in at the front door of the apartment.

Special Note about UPN HIGH RISE

  • Not all mail carriers have the access into the high rise buildings. This may result in uninformed carriers leaving packages unattended in front of the building.
  • To avoid packages getting left unattended, residents can address their packages to Towers.

Package Delivery to the Towers Mail Room

All University Park North / South residents have the opportunity to address their packages to the Towers Mail Room for added security. The Resident Services Mail Room receives packages from the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, OnTrac, UPS and other carriers on a daily basis. Once the package arrives, it must be identified and processed to its intended recipient. Once processed, the system we use will automatically send the resident an email notification stating that the package is ready for pick up at the Towers Front Desk. This does not guarantee, however, your mail will be ready for pick up the day it is delivered, which is why we highly encourage residents to avoid paying for express or overnight shipping. Paying for express shipping will not guarantee same day package availability at the front desk. As a reminder, University Park Residents can avoid this delay by addressing their mail directly to their apartment.

Due to a high influx of packages in the Towers Mail Room during peak periods, processing may take up to 5 days.

Picking up Packages at the Towers Mail Room

All package mail will be picked-up at the Towers at Centennial Square Mail Room located at 796 Font Blvd. You are required to present your SF State ID to pick up your package.

If a package has not been received past our current processing window, the Towers Front Desk staff will be able to assist you in activating the package investigation process to locate your mail. Residents are required to provide tracking information with confirmed delivery, for the package investigation process to begin.

Return to Sender

The Towers mail room only has the capacity to hold packages for 15 days after processing. After day 15, an email notification will be sent as a final reminder to pick up your item. If the package is still not picked up after the final reminder, mail staff will move the package to be returned to sender (RTS). We will automatically stamp packages that are not addressed to a current resident or belong to a non-resident as Return to Sender.
