Saint Sofia Cathedral is the first stone monument of architecture in Belarus. “Sophia” means "holy wisdom".
It was built in the 11th century (1044-1066) by Vseslav Charodey. The cathedral was heavily damaged by an explosion in 1710. In the mid-18th century it was rebuilt in the Vilna Baroque Style. In 1985 an organ was installed. The Museum of architecture of St. Sophia Cathedral was opened in 1987.
It has a concert hall with an organ. Every year festivals of organ music take place here. There is a concert hall with 304 seats. You can visit the Museum of the History of Architecture of St. Sophia Cathedral.
