Unit Elections are the process by which scouters are selected by their peers to become a part of an organization unlike any other.
However, not all units may have scouts who are eligible for election. Alternatively, units can request visitations from their local chapter to promote the Order of the Arrow and get scouts interested in joining.
The following sections details resources available to unit election teams to recruit new Arrowmen.
Unit Elections. Scouts who possess leadership qualities fitting "Scouting's National Honor Society" are elected by their peers to become a part of the Order of the Arrow. Elected members are invited to an induction weekend to become a member of our lodge. Candidates may also be invited events prior to their induction to get a taste for what the OA is like.
Adult Nominations. Units are also able to nominate adult scouters to join the Order of the Arrow, and there selection is decided at a council meeting.

Our lodge has created an interactive, online unit elections training that covers all of the fundamental concepts and allows you to complete it at your leisure. This training is hosted on our official training portal, Turtle Academy.
The unit elections training is the nationally recommended training found in the Guide to Unit Elections. This training should be done at chapter meetings prior to an election. When the training is completed, make sure to contact the lodge with the names of those who have completed the training. One of the cons of this training is that it has not been revised since the release of the Inductions Module in Lodgemaster, so supplementing this training with the Lodgemaster Tutorial above for officers may be helpful.
